Walton Local Street Improvements Early Engagement Report is now published

Thank you everyone who have subscribed to our newsletter and participated in our early engagement activities!  We are proud to share with you our newly published Early Engagement Report, which outlines the key findings from our Interactive Map Survey and engagement milestones in the Early Engagement Period ( Oct - Nov 2023 ).

Key statistics in the report:

  • A total of 200-250 visitors were logged for the in-person drops-in events, in addition to 1498 tracked visitors to the Commonplace website during the engagement period.
  • 257 participated in the survey commented within or near the zone boundary, of which 75 % are local residents.
  • 67% of individuals currently feel mostly negatively/negatively on problematic locations where transport issues are identified.
  • Issues in ‘Road traffic & Safety’ category has been voted the most notable concern at Walton - with Busy Road traffic and High Traffic Speed being the top issues.
  • Other notable concerns include quality of pavements, inadequate cycle infrastructures, poor public realm, and the lack of greenery.
  • Within the zone boundary, Manor Road has received the most comments.

We will be studying the next stage of feasibility design by incorporating your comments, such as potential mitigation for notable issues raised within the zone.

You can learn more on the engagement planning and timeline in our report, published here.
